A group of young men discerning a call to the Redemptorist way of life traveled to New Orleans last weekend to celebrate the feast of Blessed Francis Xavier Seelos, a 19th-century Redemptorist priest whose sainthood cause is moving forward. His feast day is celebrated October 5.
The vocation directors for the Baltimore and Denver Provinces led the pilgrimage to the National Seelos Shrine and Center, located in the city where the saintly Bavarian immigrant died during a yellow fever epidemic October 4, 1867.
