Fr. Alfonso Amador dies at 80

Please remember in your prayers Redemptorist Father Alfonso Amador who died April 29 in Puerto Rico.

A funeral Mass was celebrated May 1 at the Church of St. Augustine (Iglesia San Agustín) in Puerta de Tierra, Puerto Rico. Burial followed in Porta Coeli Cemetery in Bayamon.

Father Alfonso was born Nov. 28, 1929. He professed vows as a Redemptorist August 2, 1953, and was ordained June 25, 1958. He was one of the first Redemptorists from Puerto Rico to be ordained for the Baltimore Province. He later became part of the Province of San Juan as it grew from a vice province of Baltimore into an independent unit.
