Enroll loved ones in Easter Masses

A pastoral message from Father Paul Borowski, Provincial Superior

2019 Easter Mass card

The traditional Easter greeting in the Church is the exclamation “He is risen!”, and the traditional response is “He is risen indeed!” The words are sometimes accompanied by the exchange of three kisses on alternate cheeks. This is called the Paschal greeting, and it is a very old custom.

Please use the form below to request Easter cards and enroll loved ones in Easter Masses

Using this greeting should be more than an empty tradition. The words He is risen! remind us of the joyous news we celebrate at Easter: Jesus’ death was not in vain, and He has the power to overcome death. Saying He is risen! allows us to share this incredible truth with one another. The resurrection of Christ gives hope for salvation and for our own resurrection and eternal life.

This year we celebrate that tradition of the Church with our 2019 Easter Mass card. When you request this card, we will send your prayer intentions to St. Alphonsus Church in Rome so that your loved ones will be included in the solemn novena of Masses to be celebrated by Father John Vargas, C.Ss.R., before the original icon of Our Mother of Perpetual Help.

My deepest gratitude to you for reaching out to the Redemptorists in your Easter celebration with family and friends.

To you my brothers and sisters, my greeting: He is risen!

Most Rev. Paul Borowski, C.Ss.R., Provincial Superior

Please note: We can accept names of enrollees until Holy Thursday.
