A royal official and loving father went to Jesus, looking for the opportunity to save his son. Jesus rebuked him, saying, “Unless you people see signs and wonders, you will not believe” (4:48). The man shouted at Jesus, but Jesus replied, “Quiet. God knows your anguish. Go back to your son; he is already healthy.” The man believed in the word of Jesus and returned home.
We too can expose our personal problems to the Lord in prayer. Clearing our hearts of pride, we will find Christ easily and accept him without reservation.
The task of Jesus is to make the Father known, and everything Jesus offers is intended to dignify man. The royal official understood that the word of Jesus is spirit and life and that together with him we are called to believe in the word of God—the word that gives life to all men and is required to have faith. Faith in the word of Jesus makes this father a listener and a believer, achieving health for his son.
Jesus never rejects anyone who trusts in him. Pray that by approaching Holy Week we will grow in faith, perseverance, and constant love.

Un oficial real y un padre amoroso va a Jesús en busca de la oportunidad de salvar a su hijo. Jesús reprendió a ese hombre poderoso: “Si no ven señales y maravillas, no creen”. El hombre le gritó a Jesús, pero Jesús respondió: “Silencio. Dios conoce tu angustia. Vuelve a tu hijo; ya está sano”. El hombre cree en la palabra de Jesús y vuelve a casa.
Nosotros también podemos exponer nuestros problemas personales al Señor en oración. Limpiando nuestros corazones de orgullo, encontraremos a Cristo fácilmente y lo aceptaremos sin reservas.
La tarea de Jesús es dar a conocer al Padre, y todo lo que Jesús ofrece está destinado a dignificar al hombre. El funcionario real comprendió que la palabra de Jesús es espíritu y vida, y que junto con él estamos llamados a creer en la palabra de Dios, la palabra que da vida a todos los hombres y se requiere que tenga fe. La fe en la palabra de Jesús hace de este padre un oyente y un creyente, logrando la salud de su hijo.
Jesús nunca rechaza a nadie que confíe en él. Ore para que al acercarnos a la Semana Santa crezcamos en fe, perseverancia y amor constante.
